Its mission is to protect and sustainably enhance its resources , in consultation with local stakeholders. "Convince rather than coerce" is the guiding principle of Regional Natural Parks, which do not have specific regulatory powers.
The Doubs Horloger Regional Natural Park (PNR) is a support tool serving the region, working to promote and preserve our heritage through various thematic missions: mobility, architecture & landscapes, natural environments, environmental education, urban planning, agriculture & forestry, and sustainable tourism. It is the 4th in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region and the 57th in France.
This territory brings together 94 municipalities, from 6 communities of municipalities, spread over five areas characterized by their relief: the Doubs and Dessoubre Valleys, the Val de Morteau, the first plateaus of Sancey-Belleherbe and Val de Vennes, as well as the plateaus of Maîche and Russey.

29 natural sites registered and classified.
An impressive variety of landscapes characterizes the Doubs Horloger Regional Natural Park, with wooded valleys, open plateaus, peaceful rivers, gushing springs, and karst reliefs.
The meadows, peat bogs, forests… are occupied by a recognized wealth of flora and fauna such as the Red Kite, the Peregrine Falcon, the Eurasian Lynx, the Rhône Apron and the Sundew.
A wealth of natural beauty to discover, notably through must-see sites such as the Echelles de la Mort, the Saut du Doubs or the Cirque de Consolation.
Cradle of the Montbéliarde cow and Comtois horse, the agricultural character of the region allows the production of flagship and recognized specialties such as Comté, Mont d'Or and sausage from Morteau.
An amazing architectural heritage with the farms of the Franche-Comté region and their smokehouses.
A deeply intangible heritage. Emerging in the 18th century as a supplementary activity for local artisans and farmers, watchmaking remains a prominent industry and a showcase of the local economy, internationally renowned. Watchmaking expertise is recognized by UNESCO, which has inscribed the skills of watchmaking mechanics and artistic mechanics on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
This diversity, which is the identity of the Doubs Horloger Regional Natural Park, invites visitors and locals to explore unmissable natural sites, to taste the gastronomy, to learn from the artisans about local know-how and culture... On foot, by bike, on skis, by canoe... set off to discover the Doubs Horloger Regional Natural Park!
The tourist office of Pays Horloger is a partner of the Doubs Horloger Regional Natural Park.
