Eco-responsible tourism

What is sustainable tourism?

According to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), it is “tourism that takes full account of its current and future economic, social and environmental impacts, meeting the needs of visitors, professionals, the environment and host communities.”

Aiming for a balance between these three pillars of sustainable development is therefore a major challenge! While individual traveler responsibility is one answer, it's not the only one... As a player in the sector, we also have a duty to act!

When Tourist Office rhymes with sustainable and eco-responsible...

The legend of the Hummingbird…
"One day," says a Native American legend, "there was a huge forest fire. All the animals, terrified and dismayed, watched helplessly as the disaster raged. Only the little hummingbird was active, fetching a few drops with its beak to throw on the fire. After a while, the armadillo, annoyed by this trivial commotion, said to him: “Hummingbird! Aren’t you crazy? You’re not going to put out the fire with those drops of water!” And the hummingbird answered him: “I know that, but I’m doing my part.” »

Because the numbers and facts about the state of the planet show us that we no longer have a choice,

Because tourism is an activity dependent on the resources of the territory, and largely on natural resources,

Because we are all concerned, and tomorrow is built today,

Because you have to change yourself before changing others...

… The Tourist Office of Pays Horloger is committed to a sustainable and eco-responsible approach.
