
Unmissable in the Val de Morteau with the Leap of the Doubs as a highlight and three belvederes, 2 in France and the other in Switzerland accessible using a footbridgeThe hike, on the French side, runs along the Moron Lake, reservoir of the Châtelot damThis is where the difficulty begins with the climb to the Châtelard viewpoint. The view of the lake is magnificent! The ridge path continues then descends back to the starting point through forests and meadows.
• Circuit no. 31, marked yellow and blue, of average difficulty… even a little difficult due to the difference in altitude!

A hike in the heart of a rocky cirque. You will discover in turn, the path of statues carved in wood. Depending on the artist's inspiration, a "poya" wrapped around a dead tree, a chamois standing guard and other antics... On the way just before the summit slope, don't forget to visit the "Grande cave". A caves which served as a refuge for the inhabitants in the 17th century. On site, a sign provides explanations. Then two belvederes dominate the village nestled below. You then pass near a small chapel to go back down through the pastures and forests.

A small family hike accessible which goes up to Roche aux Corbeaux lookout point. Don't forget to pay homage to the President's fir tree which watches over the communal forest of Grand'Combe-Châteleu. A small variation, which extends the circuit a little, continues towards the Poussey cave, round trip. Don't forget your flashlights, the cave is accessible to children. You can venture 20 meters inside. You then return by a small road that runs along the banks of the Doubs to find the starting point, passing through some very beautiful Franche-Comté farms.
Namely : The tallest fir trees in the Franche-Comté forests are elected “president fir trees” during a festive ceremony that brings together foresters, elected officials, and the local public, who come to dutifully honor the new “President.” These fir trees are preserved. The one on this hike is 51 meters high, with a circumference of 4.16m at 1.30m from the ground.
• Circuit n°24, marked yellow and blue, accessible for families

To reach Mont Vouillot by hiking, you will actually have the choice between two hikes. The one we suggest here starts from the town of Les Fins. But wherever you start from, the objective is the same: a climb, heading towards Mont Vouillot. Arriving at the summit is the reward. very beautiful belvedere on the Val de Morteau, it's a must! From there, you can see on a clear day, the majestic peaks of the Alps.
